8A
My solution to the problem I presented in 7A would be to offer a program to high schoolers that gave them opportunities to do volunteer work related to fields they want to pursue. Not only does this help with getting volunteering hours the students need, but it also gives them an enriching experience of helping others and insight into how much they might like their future careers. For example, I could take teens who want to do IT and have them teach young kids how to use a computer. I haven't worked out all the kinks of this solution yet, but I think it can be a success if I understand more how I want it to be run.
I love the idea, but I don’t know how viable it is as a business. Where exactly can we profit from this, and how do we implement. The need is definitely there, and the idea is definitely righteous. The business also seems limited to the resources of the local area. If the child wants to pursue a career in innovative tech, but there is no tech industry in their locale, what would you do?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I forgot to mention this is the idea for a non-profit. The money for funding would come from fundraisers mostly. We would also ask for donations from parents of the children we are helping in order to pay the wages of employees. I decided to do non-profit I've already started one for mentorship, education, and helping of the less fortunate. This is more of a new way I can do what I've already been trying to do that encompasses everything I want to be doing.
DeleteHey Kai,
ReplyDeleteI really like your solution of making it volunteer work that gives kids the necessary experience that they need to find out what they want to do. I definitely agree with you that you need to work out the kinks and figure out how exactly you want it to be run, but I think it would be a very successful idea and I am very intrigued to see how you plan it out in the future because I think this is a great idea.
