The thing I will keep with me the most from this course was taking criticisms and applying it to my work to make it better. I did this alot in the surveying portion of this course aswell as receiving commentary on my work every week. It was definitely something very new to me that was fun to experience. The other thing I took away from the course aswell as the books I read for the course was that failure and risks are essential to learning.  I've often let fear of failure guide to many big decisions in my life which is a cycle I wish to finally break this semester. I'm glad this course has highlighted this to me! I'm most proud of my performances of my elevator pitches. They took MANY times to get to what I thought was acceptable and I appreciated the great food back on it. One of my classmates in particular said I looked like a natural in front of a camera which is SO NOT THE CASE! So that was great hear. And made me motivated to try even harder in the next eleva...

Opportunity: The opportunity that my venture seeks to take advantage of is need for the parents of highschoolers in Miami to save money on sending their kids to college. I believe in this being a real opportunity because of how much excess time and money children waste because they aren't sure why they are in college. Many students just jump into a major they think they might like and end up either unmotivated or just doing poorly in their classes. The average college student changes their major up to three times before graduating. Nearly 60% of students finish a 4 year degree in 6 years time according to the US Department of Education. If a parent is sending their child to a school like UM, that could mean up to 120,000 dollars wasted. Because of the nature of my solution revolving around helping kids explore their future major through at least 100 hours of community service (which is required to graduate highschool in Miami).
